Sick again :(

by Mayleur
Hey readers! :D
I have some bad news on my part - I've somehow managed to fall sick again, less than one week away from my exams! I've been coughing a lot, and can only cope with 2 hours of sleep per night (coughing wakes me up from my sleep). My tummy now hurts so much from coughing. I'm at loss at what I should do. I have been taking medicine, including cough syrup, but they seem quite useless in making me right again. Perhaps you have some advice on how to cope better? A way to sleep better at night perhaps?

  1. Oh Lyn, I am so sorry to hear about this, I can understand the gravity of your worries where the exams are concerned, but be positive, that's key to recovering fast. For the coughing, have you tried brewing some hot plain tea infused with a thick slice of ginger and a little honey or sugar ? I always turn to this during the winter... and it really will help sooth the coughing... the only other thing I can think of is to apply some Vick's vapor-rub on your neck....and let the shower run on very hot and allow the steam to fill the room, it should help relieve the congestion. Oh I hope feel better soon....!

  2. ohh no, hope you feel better soon. I agree with all of Nat's advice, also one thing which I do when the kids are chesty and coughy is to rub some vicks on the soles of their feet, not sure if it works but it's worth a try.

goodluck with the exams and try to get a sleep during the day after your hot shower & honey tea or maybe some lemsip.

  3. We are in the same boat! I couldn't sleep a wink last night coughing and all that. I always go for natural remedies like lemon and honey syrup. When I need to recover asap, I just go for commercial cough preparations! Get well soon!

  4. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that you're sick. I don't have any special remedy but besides taking cough syrups, sometimes I chew a piece of ginger to sooth my throat. Really hope that you'll get well soon.
